Chinese construction equipment heavyweight SDLG has launched its biggest ever motor grader – the G9260.
The machine provides enhanced grading performance and is ideal for use in mining and on large infrastructure projects, according to a statement by the Volvo CE-owned company. The grader can handle a variety of tasks including land grading, ditching, bulldozing, slope scraping and snow removal work.
The G9260 is powered by a Tier 3 SD13 engine, giving it excellent performance in any terrain, SDLG said. The machine features optimised weight distribution, 136kN of tractive force and is equipped with a hydraulically powered wet brake system. The electronically controlled diesel engine is matched with a power shift transmission control valve and a mechanical transmission system, delivering optimum performance and fuel efficiency, the statement added.
The double fuel tanks in the G9260, the first of their kind for a Chinese machine, ensure high driving force and reliability SDLG said. With a maximum cutting depth of 825mm, the blade of the grader is 4.27m wide and the cutter diameter is 1626mm. The G9260 has a forward and reverse speed of 44.2kmh and 31.8kmh respectively.
The statement added that the G9260 motor grader’s cab features the latest generation of operator safety and comfort, including a new falling-object and roll-over protection structure (FOPS/ROPS). The electric-hydraulic locking mechanism ensures safe and convenient operation.
The new G9260 motor grader was the star of the show for SDLG at the Bauma China 2016 exhibition in Shanghai last month, where it made it world premiere. The new model – which is SDLG’s biggest ever motor grader – was on display alongside a range of the brand’s excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders, road rollers and backhoe loaders, said the statement.
Speaking at an international press conference at the G9260’s launch, Wang Zhizhong, board chairman of SDLG, said: “Bauma China provided us with a great opportunity to showcase our capabilities as an international company to our customers, dealers and the media. The launch of the G9260 demonstrates our commitment to developing the best motor grader in the nation. We are seeing growing demand for construction equipment from mining and large-scale infrastructure projects in China and our customers are looking for a bigger, durable grader to work on these projects. Demand for motor graders in Southeast Asia is surging and we are confident that the G9260 will increase our competitiveness in the road building market.”
